During this period 15 bills were submitted to consideration of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In total 3 laws were adopted by the Parliament and signed by the President of Ukraine. 2305 appellations, declarations, complaints from physical bodies and juristic persons.
The Committee paid special attention, as it was underscored in account, was paid to the legislative review of the adoption, strengthening of the state policy in the sphere of the families support if they have adopted orphan children or children deprived of paternal care and children under custody or under care.
The People´s Deputy consider the most significant achievement of the Committee was the fact that the veto made by the President of Ukraine on the Law "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine as to the Adoption" was overridden, as far as it was unacceptable to agree with the fact that the adoption of the child, that is a citizen of Ukraine, is possible to a foreigner that are not married, with the exception if he is relative to a child. The reason for such a position, as was stated by the People´s Deputies, appeared to be cases of sexual harassment. Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the position(387 votes) and has overridden the President´s veto.
The Members of the Committee deem the Law on "Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "on State Behalf of the Families with children" reasonable, that touches upon the extent of the assistance for children under custody or under care. It gave the possibility to enlarge the relief to two livings wages for children that are under custody or care.
None the less important are considered to be the following bills prepared by the Committee and submitted to the consideration of the Parliament:
"On Amendments to some Laws of Ukraine"(concerning the state support for the families, that have adopted orphan children or children deprived of paternal care), re.№1452.
on amendments to the article 11 of the Law "On assistance to the Social Development of the Youth in Ukraine")re№0888;
on amendments to the Law "On Social Work with Children And Youth" and some other legislative acts, that suggest that the law should be adopted in new version. (re№0929).
on improvement of the children's health and children´s recreation (re. №0983), that determines the main directions in the sphere of children´s health improvement and recreation.
One of the most essential directions of the Committee was the realization by the Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sports of the statutory-juridical acts regarding preparation of the final part of Euro Football Championship 2012. The special meeting was held on this issue, on which the Head of the Committee P. Kostenko turned attention of representatives of the given Ministry to unclear situation regarding the reconstruction of the National Sport Complex "Olimpiysky".
During the accounting period two exit meetings of the Committee were held: in Cherkasy, and in Skvyra, Kyiv region.
